Cubicles

Cubicles are available for individual study and research.

  • 7 Rooms (No. 0-6) *reservation required
  • Available only to members of Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences / Faculty of Agriculture.
  • Cubicles can also be used for viewing and speaking online classes.
    • Room 0 also serves as the Audio-Visual Room. Please use room 0 to watch or listen to audio-visual items of the library.
    • Rooms 1-6 are not fully sound insulated. Please be careful of sound leakage.
      When listening, please be sure to use earphones or headphones that you have prepared yourself. When speaking, please keep the volume of your voice down so as not to affect the other rooms.

How to reserve

Reservations in advance and on the day are accepted.

Reserve in advance

Cubicles can be reserved through Advance application form for Cubicles.

Time slot:
Weekday: 8:30-10:15 / 10:25-12:10 / 12:20-12:50 / 13:00-14:45 / 14:55-16:40 / 16:50-18:35 / 18:45-20:30
Weekday (when the library is open on shortened hours): 8:30-10:15 / 10:25-12:30 / 12:40-14:45 / 14:55-16:40
Saturday: 12:00-12:50 / 13:00-14:45 / 14:55-16:40

  • Up to two time slots of time can be reserved in a day. Application can only be made one day before the day of use.
  • If the library is closed on the day before the day of use, you can apply from the nearest day the library is open to the day before the day of use.
    • Ex. If you want to use a Cubicle on Apr. 4, 2022 (Mon.), you can make a reservation from Apr. 2 (Sat.) to Apr. 3 (Sun.).
  • If you reserve two consecutive time slots, you can use the 10 minutes of switching time between them.
  • Multiple rooms cannot be reserved for the same time slot. Please note that if you apply for more than 2 slots in advance, your application will be invalid.
  • The library will send you a reservation confirmation email after you apply. Please be sure to check the email, as you will be notified by email even if you are unable to reserve the Cubilcles.
  • Please check the next opening day’s reservation for reservation availability.
    If no schedule has been entered for the room and time slot of your choice, you can reserve it.
  • Cubicles can’t be reserved online on the day of use. Please apply at the service desk.
  • If you need to cancel after making a reservation, please apply using cancel form.

Reserve on the day

  • Please present your student ID card, staff ID card, or library card at the service desk to apply.
  • Unlike advance reservations, you are free to specify time if there are no other reservations. (There is no time limit or time slot)
  • Today’s reservation can be checked in advance.

Notes on use

Before using

  • Please present your student ID card, staff ID card, or library card at the service desk.
  • Please receive a “occupied” plate at the service desk and post it on the door before entering the room.

When using

  • No food is allowed in the rooms. Beverages are allowed in “Spill-Proof” containers with twist off or other secure lids.
  • Please take responsibility for your personal belongings brought into the room.
  • In the event of damage of equipment, you will be required to pay for the damage in principle.
  • It is prohibited to do something that disturbs others, use a room by more than one person, or take equipment out of the library. If you engage in any of the prohibited acts, you may be refused further use of the Cubicles.

After using

  • Please return a “occupied” plate to the service desk.
  • Please be sure to turn off the air conditioning and electric stand.
  • Please leave the door open for ventilation.
  • Please leave Room 0 with the ventilation panel switch turned on.
    In rooms 1-6, please run the circulator on a timer setting for one hour and direct the airflow to the outside of the room before leaving.
